The Rain Gatherers
Second Site collective at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden
578 Carrall Street, Vancouver, BC
The Rain Gatherers project involves programs in local schools and community centres, a RAIN Lab at the garden, a community choir that will sing the sounds of bird calls and rain fall, and an exhibition in the garden of rain-sensitive electronic artwork.
The project will feature work by artists Diana Burgoyne, Don Chow, Peter Courtemanche, Robin Ripley, Matt Smith, and Lori Weidenhammer.
Feel free to drop in March 9 to 14 for the RAIN Lab. Join the community choir on March 9 and 10. Come to the opening of the exhibition on the 16th. On the 23rd "Group of X" will host a Tour + Talk + Ideas Session with artists Diana Burgoyne, Peter Courtemanche, Robin Ripley and Matt Smith - come and find out more about the artworks and join in some discussion about rain water.
